Ba Zambia! Eay! Ba Zambia! Chipolopolo!

This month has been an incredibly fun month!! We changed continents from Europe to Africa, we got to teach our professional skills for three weeks, and we got to meet amazing people!!

One of our students, Mary, had lost her mom when she was 7, and her dad left her around then also. She lived with aunts for a while, being mistreated and not being able to go to school because she was told to take care of her cousins. Last year her uncle took her in, and has promised that as soon as he has the money, he will send her to school. She is also getting the proper food and clothing now, but she told my teammate and I that the only people she has felt loved by recently are her church and our squad. She is 16. She is also so full of joy and laughter she brought joy to all of us.

Auntie Rose was another incredible person. She cooked for us, and would always make sure we were completely stuffed after eating. The greatest complement for her was for you to say that you were going to have to explain to your families at home that she was the reason you had gained weight.

Auntie Flo is the director of MMM Zambia, and her major focus is hospitality. She was ridiculously talented at hosting and making our squad feel welcome. She also had the tendency to become your mom and took extra care of those sick and injured during the month.

We had fun playing with kids, teaching teens and young adults, and having meals with the older generations. If you are in need of some selfless hospitality and want to learn a few things, go to Zambia!!

We also spent the last few days of the month in Livingston, Zambia, for a weekend of Leadership development and adventure! More to come on those!

On to South Africa! Month Ten!!
