During my recent divings into scripture for information on the spiritual realms, I discovered something awesome: Jesus conquered the only evil power I have no power over. Death.
Death. It is the scariest thing in existence. The unknown of what comes after death. The possible pain of going through death. Never seeing that which is on the other side of death. Only knowing what God has told us as the True truth about heaven. Some people have said they went to heaven and came back, and have described the experience for us, but that is still their perception. Only God knows the truth, and he hasn’t showed us a lot of that truth.
Death is an evil we all are scared to face, but like I said, Jesus conquered that evil. In fact, that is the only evil, of which I currently know, that we as Christians cannot defeat.
In Isaiah 54:17, the Bible says “no weapon fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment.”
In 2 Corinthians 10:3-6, Paul explains that we have weapons that have divine power and can destroy strongholds. We can destroy arguments and opinions against the knowledge of God.
In 1 John 4:4, God’s Word says we have over come the spirits of the antichrist, who is already in the world, and God in us is greater than he who is in the world.
(Now some of the statements below are from these scriptures, others are common church statements.)
If:
1) we have the weapons of God, to destroy strongholds, all arguments, and every opinion raised against us, but
2) we cannot defeat death because we are not sinless, and
3) Christ defeated death because he is sinless…
…It remains that we can conquer all other strongholds and evil that stands against us. Therefore, Christ conquered death because it is the only evil we cannot defeat, and he wants nothing to stand between him and us!!
