The World Race has a policy of five days of ministry, one rest day, and one adventure day each week. Because adventure days are to experience the area, we are allowed to combine those days, sometimes taking an entire weekend, if the ministry host allows it.
We had planned to combine or two adventure days of this week and last week, because we wanted to travel somewhere, but as it hasn’t worked out, we are now taking our two adventure days around Jakarta. Today was city exploration day!!
Some people ended up going to the mall, because the museums are closed on Mondays. Others just wandered, and saw what they could. I was a wanderer. I went with Hilary around what is called Old Town, and is essentially a bunch of older building are a large square. We also tried to find a harbor that was mentioned, but we couldn’t and it was getting dark so we came back to the square and got food.
It was actually a pretty fun day!! Indonesians are extremely friendly and always what to know where you are going in Indonesia. They always have their favorite places to recommend! They are some of the happiest people I have met so far on the Race!
