It sounds so cliche to say “God has a plan”. Most often we use this phrase when something tragic or unexplainable happens. Someone in your family gets cancer, “God has a plan.” Someone dies prematurely, “God has a plan.” You lose your job, “God has a plan.” So many other scenarios, “God has a plan.” He does have a plan in those situations.
I was spending some “scheduled quiet time,” as our team calls it, to reflect on my time here in Cambodia and journal some thought and ideas and prayers and what God is saying to me about the past month and the month to come. I was letting Father know I couldn’t wait to be part of His plan for me and my team and our next ministry, and realized that He already has a plan for everything. Literally everything. He doesn’t necessary plan for certain disasters or other tragic or hard situations to happen. He does have a plan in place to put in affect after the fact.
Think about it: Father knows the future and has a plan for everything that will happen and he had a plan for everything that happened in the past. He already put those past plans in place to bring about the results He wanted in the aftermath and consequences.
He has a plan, even multiple plans, for every person, every government, every people group, every country, every event (big or small), how every person will hear of his wondrous deeds and be given the opportunity to accept his Son, how each day will go for each person. He knows all, and knows exactly how everything will turn out. Therefore, he is he ultimate plan-maker, and can give you a plan for whatever you are facing. Don’t forget to ask for it.
God has a plan for the world, every single part of it, for the rest of eternity.
