I absolutely LOVE that we are doing so many different facets of ministry…each day looks so different!
SIMPLY CATIVO
On Sundays and Thursdays, we take an hour ride in the back of a truck to a village in the mountains called Cativo. It is such a peaceful place! Honestly, one of our favorite ministries.

Miguel and Kristen are in the process of discipiling about 6 believers that live in the village and are building even more relationships enabling them to spread the Gospel. We are helping to build relationships by visiting homes twice a week and getting to know the people.

One of the many great things about Cativo is their hospitality. We are always being offered some sort of strange food!

I love Cativo so much! I love the people…I love the peacefulness…the hospitality! I love what God is doing there by proclaiming His name to people that had never heard the Gospel until 6 months ago! I know God is working there to heal their sickness and most importantly show Himself to these people.
HAPPENIN’ MAJADOS
On Mondays and Tuesdays, we walk to a squatter’s village right outside of the city (Los Mojados). After being in Cativo, Majados was a bit of a culture shock (within already being culture shocked, if you will!). It is for sure not as chill as Cativo was and the kids were CRAZY about us!

Again, we are doing home visits and building relationships within the village. One of the biggest parts of our ministry there is our VBS we run each afternoon for the children. They always have so much energy and seriously make us feel like celebrities…

To be honest though,it was super exhausting. We love those kids, but ministry was starting to wear on us.
Truly, I had to personally check my attitude towards these kids. Reality check! I never thought I would do that while doing ministry. God for sure gave me a check and really opened my eyes to how much He loves those children right where they are and I should to.
I’ve really learned that my attitude towards ministry has to be determined before I get there and that I HAVE TO rely on God for my physical strength to do these things. Once I started getting in that mindset, God CRAZY BLESSED our time there. I came away from our ministry this past Tuesday with so much energy. It was honestly from God!
DOWN ON THE FARM
AND FINALLY…our last part of ministry this month is on Wednesdays to help our hosts with tasks for their ministry.
Thus, we have been doing a little FARMING…

The beautiful countryside of San Juan
Our hosts are starting to grow food to help feed people in their ministry. Never did I think I would be doing farming activities! (I’m not milking cows or anything super crazy like that!)
However, we did dig a trench for plantain trees. And the coolest part…
WE LEARNED HOW TO ROAST COFFEE!

That’s pretty much our ministry in a nutshell…
I love that we are doing so many different things and are getting to build relationships with a lot of AWESOME people! It is crazy to think we are already half way through the month!
