God’s been showing me a lot this month about what women are supposed to be. We’re taught that a real woman is the nice church lady or the professional working woman. But that’s not really it at all, not even close. A real woman is beautiful in the truest sense, strong when no one else can be, and is constantly willing to do what no one else will, willing to speak truth and life into any situation. Above all, a true woman is a life giver.

This is the case going all the way back to Genesis. Eve gets a bad rap but she is the first Life Giver on Earth. In fact her name means Life. Sure Eve and all women physically give life, but it’s so much more than that. They give life through relationships, encouragement, discipline, etc. You can look back on your life and see you didn’t have just one mom. There were probably many women pouring into you over the years.

As I’ve traveled, I’ve seen this at all ages and levels. I’ve prayed for barren women desperate for the joy of a child. I’ve seen our contact’s excitement over her pregnancy. A woman we worked with, Pauline, and her 4 year old daughter that happily goes everywhere with her. A pastor’s wife having 3 of us separately go up to her 19 year old son and pray for him when he was in need.

In the Bible, this is also evident. Hannah begging for God to give her Samuel. Rachel keeping her family safe by deceiving her father. Mary encouraging Jesus to perform his first miracle and step into His destiny. Whatever story it is, a woman is bringing life to her child and the people around her.

And that’s awesome!

Basically the point of this short, little blog is that moms are incredible. Women are incredible. So go thank your mom, or your mentor, or your sister or one of the many incredible women in your life. I can guarantee you wouldn’t be who you are today without her.

And to my mom….you are incredible. I could never be doing what I’m doing without your love and support. I would never have gone to Clemson or survived life without you and your love. I love you!
