Sometimes it's odd to think about those times now that I am on the race. This year is changing my life in more ways than I will ever be able to count. It's hard to not look into the future and wonder where I will be or what I will be doing after this year is done. But no matter what I do or where I will be, I will always, always know that you are behind me. Encouraging me to shoot for my dreams, listening and giving advice when I'm frustrated or complete wacko. To be my cheerleader the way you have always been since the day I was born.
Thank you for sitting with me as I frustratedly tried to pack at least three times the night before I left for the race.
Thank you for being there to talk to when I was trying my hardest to balance student teaching with preparing for the race.
Thank you for all those trips to REI even though most of the time I came out with nothing.
Thank you for your facebook messages, even when they were just to say hello or you knew I wouldn't be able to respond for a week.
Thank you for understanding my need to go on the race.
Thank you for sharing with me how you are growing throughout this year as well.
Thank you for holding all my fundraising events (Chick-fil-A, garage sales, and even send off parties) even when you had a million other things to do.
Thank you for always remaining calm, even when I am in the second most dangerous city in Peru or traveling across country borders with just six other girls.
Thank you for being a prayer warrior, and for remembering each one of my team members by name.
Thank you for supporting me in every single way you could.
Thank you for reading all my blogs and creeping on my teammates pictures when I can't get mine to upload. It lets me know I'm consitently on your mind.
Thank you for showing me a beautiful glimpse of the love of Christ each and every day.
And most importantly, THANK YOU GOD for giving me such an incredible mother.
It's hard knowing that I won't be there today to make your day special, but I'm wishing you the very best Mother's Day from Ukraine. And wish the special promise of a big, huge hug when I see you in December.
Happy Mother’s Day!
I love you,
Sarah
