I applied to the World Race with this weird feeling that I would end up on an all women team….which is hard for me. I have always gotten along with men better than women. But God seemed to be working in me so that by the time Training Camp came around, I was at peace with the idea that I could be on an all women team. But as we were going through the activities designed to help with team formation, I began to doubt again. I was placed in several all women groups during the activities that just did NOT go well at all. I came to realize that I was just going to trust that God knows what He is doing and He will not fail me. So I opened up again to the idea and during the last team building activity (another all women group) I felt Him telling me that this was my team. And guess what?!….I was EXCITED.
God has put 6 amazing women of God in my life. I will be privledged to serve along side them for the next year of my life. With that being said….I now introduce you to team Veracity!

Left to Right:
Meghan: Heart for serving others, encouraging, full of powerful, loving words. We dubbed her the mom on our team. She is an AMAZING cook. Cannot wait to cook with her this year!!
Catherine: I originally thought she was really quiet…but that all changed during our team dinner. She is hilarious and bursting with the joy of Christ, has already provided our team with lots of laughs. ๐ She has so much knowledge and shares what is on her heart.
Me
Emily: Our loving and incredibly joyful leader, a blessing for our team. I am ready to see how God uses her leadership to work in all of our lives.
Cassie: Talk about talented with a camera! This girl is incredible! I already know her heart for the nations just based off stalking her facebook this past summer. She is full of life!
Serah: Our fearless dancer, hysterical, and small like me! Yes, this is an awesome trait. ๐ God will do great things for His kingdom through her.
Dana: Full of surprising knowledge (if only you had heard her talk about wilderness survival- and this girl is from the OC!) She has a pure heart and a quiet strength about her. Cannot wait to see what else I learn about her over the next year.
One thing about all of us…..we LOVE chocolate! Hence the 2nd picture below. Yes, we did eat all of this…in around 10 minutes flat. We will have a budget for chocolate while on the Race. Feel free to donate. ๐

We also all crammed into a car with two of us laying down on the others laps. After the night on the bus….this seemed logical and a piece of cake.
So…you have met the team….but what exactly does Team Veracity mean??Well, it means a devotion to truth. An unwillingness to lie.
God spoke to Meghan the same night we had our team dinner and this is what He called our team to:
a devotion to truth
an unwillingness to lie
a movement to speak life
a desire to see others through Christ's eyes
a need to find His words
for ourselves
for our team
and those we see in life
a love for a God who chose to love us first
ve·rac·i·ty
I was in tears after she read this. This is EXACTLY what we want our team to be known for. So many women are hurt by the lies they are given by society and those that are spoken to them by other women. Our team is going to be dedicated to the truth- and only the truth. WE will speak the truth into each others lives. We WILL bring the truth of God's word to the broken and the hopeless. We will. WE will. We WILL.
I cannot tell you how excited I am to see how God uses us as a team in the next coming year. I feel such a strong connection with these women already and I know God has great things in store for us to be a part of. Please pray for each person on this incredible team as we prepare to leave.
And with that… I will leave you on a funny note. This is one of the pictures we took of our team at the end of the week. As an all women team, sometimes we can be seen as weak- but this team is not weak. We are strong! And so I give you team Veracity…

We may be a team full of women…but we don't need no men! (except Jesus)
