Excerpt from my journal…no edits made:
I no longer want to see indifferent people. I want to see people transformed by the truth of the Gospel. I want to see people come alive & walking in the abundant life promised to us by Jesus when we have a relationship with Him.
I believe God wants to show His power in this place. I believe He wants to heal backs, legs, and other ailments in a powerful display of His glory. I believe even more than that He wants to use us to point to His glory and to share why He did it. That He loves them. That He wants to be in relationship with them. That He wants them to have an abundant and overflowing love/life/joy despite any of their situation. I believe He wants to display His power so they can better know the depths of His love.
Look at Job and Habakkuk and likely many other examples. When we sit there and go, "woe is me," or get stuck unable to see beyond the pale of our immediate situation, how does God always respond? Is it with, "Keep it up," or "Atta boy"? No. He brings perspective change. He challenges us to look and think bigger. He draws us out of the small box of our situation/life and screams, "LOOK AT ME!!" Look at my grandeur, power, love, might, awesomeness, abundance, infiniteness, control, glory, immensity. Look at me. I can't be contained, restrained, tied up, shut up, or stopped. Look at me. There you find life.
Habakkuk 1:5, "Look among the nations and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing work in your days that you will not believe if told."
