I've been learning so much about love lately and God has been completely expanding my heart and my capacity to love my teammates and the people we are serving. He's taught me what it means to operate in an environment of high preference for others. Here are just a few fun ways I have experienced love or given love recently.

1. Feeding Meg almonds while soaking our lime chemical burned hands from the tilapia tank. (oh, and sharing fungus cream the day before when we thought we had fungus)…

2. Andres scratching the inside of my ear because it itched like CRAZY and my hands were covered in black motor oil from painting posts…

3. KK letting me dip my Hershey's chocolate in her peanut butter after its been in my mouth (because in my excitement about chocolate, I forgot the #1 rule of missionaries: thou shall put peanut butter on all things)…

4. The awesome guys on my team serving us women so well in all ways, including doing ALL of our laundry by hand…

5. The maintenance guy at Vida Joven, Sir Walter, allowing me to put black paint on his nose. Just for fun…

6. Margarita allowing me to snuggle with her when she's feeling homesick. And just for completely letting me burst her personal space bubble constantly…

7. Bryan running down the gravel road in the rain carrying 3 huge bags to find us a ride to our ministry site…

8. Jen's constant surprises of encouraging notes, chocolate, and other fun things…

9. Kaitlyn's willingness to ditch her $3 fake ray bans in the event that I start drowning while attempting to swim wayyy out to the rocks as the waves violently crash over them…

10. Momma Yackie brushing my teeth while I am laying in my hammock which has fallen on the floor and am too lazy to get up…

… THAT'S LOVE. heart

My challenge to you: find fun ways to prefer and serve those around you and take note of how it changes the atmosphere!
