I felt moved to pray specifically for our fathers, for their
hearts to be strong, for their courage to grow and for confidence to step out
and walk as they have truly been called by their Heavenly Father.
I pray for
convictions, for passion, for fearlessness, and for honesty.
Show them they have
been redeemed, that they have been made in your image, that they have been
given the heart of a lion. May they hear
you roaring to them, may something within their spirits rumble out in reply to
you.
Give them again a
thirst for adventure and a marveling at your mysteries. Answer their questions and wonderings with
clarity.
Give them
relationships that will challenge them and encourage them to live zealously in
you.
Give them brothers
who will be pillars and not axes; that they would support each other and not
cut each other down.
Give us a movement, a
Holy uprising of the men that we call Daddy and Papa, the men who are a part of
our DNA, the men who are close to our
hearts. Jesus, walk alongside them and
infuse them with your spirit and your very nature. Change their likeness, transform their
countenance, and fill them with fire for you.
They hold the power
of your words, they have the power of your heart.
Awaken the authority
you placed in them.
Make them alive just
as you are alive.
