It was our day off.

We went to pick up Passion tickets for the rest of our squad… we took a cab through the Philippine city.

We spent the evening walking around the vastness of the huge mall… buying nothing because nothing else can fit inside my pack lol

After a while we took a cab back to our ministry site. When we arrived we both decided that we weren’t ready to go home yet. So, We walked to the end of the street where we jumped on a jeepny. (The jeepny is what the locals take for transportation in the city).

We got off at the mall exit, (a different mall close to our contact) and well, we realized that this mall was now closed… out side was a bunch of trikes (a motorbike with a sidecar on it) waiting to take people wherever they wanted to go….

We didn’t know where we wanted to go, so we just told the trike to take us .. …

When we arrived at restaurant row we had the selection of places to go… One of the girls on my team quickly told the driver to go back to the first restaurant we passed.

The driver said he would wait for us while we went inside….

When we walked in there were only a handful of people in the whole establishment. It was a quiet and quaint place…

When we sat down a woman who approached us, mid 30’s in age, beautiful with a quiet voice quickly asked how we knew about the place…

We told her that the driver brought us here….

She told us that we were the first Americans that had EVER been in the place.

After a few minutes of talking to woman, out of nowhere I asked the woman if she was okay? I felt in my spirit that I was supposed to ask her.

She looked at me with ghost white grin and asked why?

I told her that I felt like the Lord wanted me to pray for her, and at that moment her eyes filled with tears.

She presumed to tell me that she has Cancer and that she has been unable to have children. She believes in God and his promises but is very discouraged at where she is in her life at this moment. She said that she believes in Hope but right now, in her heart she believes all HOPE has failed her.

She actually doesn’t’ even work at the establishment her boyfriend’s family owns it, but she is always there helping them out.

She told me she has been having bad thoughts of life, and her future. She said she some day’s she wakes up and doesn’t feel like life is worth living anymore.

I believe God sent us there that night to pray over her in her life and let her know that she is loved and sought after.

So, right there in the middle of the restaurant, we gathered around the couple and we prayed.

We prayed for God to show up in her life… To show her love and to reveal His will in their life. We prayed for healing and for His purpose for them.

When we left that night I felt a peace as we rode home in that tuk-tuk.

And A few days later I received an email….

Hi Sarah,

It’s a pleasure to meet amazing women like you and Sierra. Thank you so much for praying over for me, my heart was truly touched. You are God’s instrument of reminding me how much He loves me. God sent you to where I am because He knows that I am lost right now; all I feel are pain and worries. He sent you to once again remind me that I am not alone, and never will be alone. Coz He will always be there for me.

     Good night beautiful ladies!

     Again, thank you so much!

Your new friend

I know we were sent there for a reason. And I know that when you truly listen to God’s prompting, he will lead you where you need to go and what you need to do.

I am thankful for my new friend, and I continue to pray for healing and that God continues to show up in her life in a tangible way.
