75 Things that I have learned in 75 days on the World Race
1. Every time I have expectations, they completely get wrecked.
2. Chocolate is gold here
3. I miss Mexican food more than I thought – I even dream about it sometimes
4. Drinking warm milk is normal – even in your cereal
5. A 28 hour bus ride is normal, it doesn’t seem as long as it actually is
6. Your attitude affects EVERYONE……NOT just yourself
7. Dandruff happens to everyone… even if you have never had it!
8. Sitting with your feet on the top of the seats on the bus helps your feet not to swell on long bus rides….. kankles
9. Gaining 10 pounds in 2 months is normal on the race
10. You better love the clothes you brought, because you wear them over and over and over and over again
11. You better get used to community, because these people don’t go away.
12. Most of what you think you need on the race …. You don’t
13. The 5 second rule gets increased by 3 seconds every month
14. You have to try the foods your contacts make – even if it makes you sick afterwards
15.Worship isn’t just singing
16. God doesn’t always give you what you want, but he always gives you what you need
17. Having hot showers is a luxury
18. Even when you don’t want to love people, you need to
19.You just cant stress over having a huge bag, you just learn how to carry it
20. Learn to let go
21. Always have snacks…
22. Don’t be consumed with stuff that your dealing with that you miss out on amazing ministry time
23. Its hard to always make time for Jesus time, even on the race
24. Honor your contacts, even if you don’t agree with them.
25. Sometimes you just need a day of rest
26. Don’t stress over fundraising… if God wants you on this Race, He shows up out of nowhere!!!
27. Laughing usually always makes things better.
28.Talk it out even when you don’t want to
29. Love more…. Love often ….show others you care about them
30. Forgive others
31. Take the time to know your teammates and your contacts. Youll find amazing things within them
32. Missionary life can get very lonely sometimes, but keep rejoicing in it because there is Hope in it always
33. People are different than you… you may not agree with them, but you can learn something from them
34. Knowing people who torrent movies is absolute GOLD!
35. Putting your earphones in is considered alone time
36. Things are hardly ever going to go your way, just deal with it.
37. Community is difficult, but a necessity for spiritual growth
38. Everything is a blessing
39. My family is so supportive of me, in more ways that I ever imagined. I love them so much
40. When people are worshipping Jesus with music and different languages are being sang, it’s a beautiful sound
41. Where there is WIFI – there are World Racers
42. If there is a hole, then there is a bathroom
43.Serving others is not based on your own preferences, but on the person’s particular position
44.Girls fart as much as boys do. Its true – (You know who you are)
45. I’ve develop Acid Reflux out of nowhere when I left America
46. Things you didn’t like to eat in America taste great in other countries
47. Never take for granted a bed or a shower
48. Don’t keep the pain in, Express your heart, so others can be there for you.
49. Be willing to let others help you. Even if you think you don’t need it.
50. Not showering for at least 3 days is normal
51. Ice cream is amazing
52. You realize who really loves you once you leave America
53.It is by grace that I am on the World Race.
54.Finding moments of solitude are a rare gift.
55. As God is working on you, he is working in the lives of those back home.
56. God is simply amazing
57. I thought this trip was about working in the lives of others, but really its been working on my life
58. Positivity is contagious
59. Do your laundry often, especially if you are hand washing it
60. Relationships are hard – you have to fight for them
61. Some people just don’t get it
62. You cant serve other people until you serve your own people.

65. Pouring into your own squad is just as important as pouring into the world.

67. When someone agrees to pack 15 pounds of your weight in their bag for you, and carry it…. they care
68. Trust God will work things out the way they are suppose to be worked out… Man fails us, but God is Sovereign
69. Did I mention how much I missed Mexican food…. lol
70. Give. In every sense of the word. Be selfless
71. Write in your journal, you will forget things
72. Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. in ALL your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths!!!!!!!
73. Ive come to love some pretty amazing people, and I didn’t think it was possible this soon.
74. Let Go and Let God take over… even the things back home
75. This Race may not be exactly what I thought it was going to look like, but God is doing amazing things in my life and those I have come in contact with. God is so good. And I feel blessed!
