Coffee & The Cross

soo…lets make witnessing fun..

I'm in a cafe in Romania with Natasha, Kristi, our translator Andrea and two romanian girls Catalina (18) and her friend Iulia(15).

We met these girls in a park an hour earlier and made plans to get coffee with them. In the park we had been sharing the gospel with them and I shared my testimony for a few minutes.

At the coffee shop we sat down and bought them coffee and a few pieces of cake that tasted like slices of heaven.

We were talking for about 20 minutes just about life and what our lives each looked like and sharing things about our families.

I really wanted to explain to her how Jesus loves us so much and what He did for us, and this is what Jesus came up with because He's so awesome and clever:

"THE TABLE PIECE GOSPEL"

Things you'll need:
Big water bottle (BWB aka God Almighty)
Small water bottle (SWB Jesus)
Brown Small cup (BSC you)
White napkin Two Straws

I took the BWB and I placed the BSC in front of it. I told her that when we stood in front of God before Christ died for us he saw us as dirty, unclean, sinners, we were just completely unworthy of having anything to do with him and his Glory. God was up in heaven and we were here down on earth and had no way to get to God or heaven, and that meant we were going to hell ("The wages of sin is Death" Romans 6:23 ). But guess what? God for some reason has this insane deep love for us and he desires for us to be with him when our lives on this earth are over. So I grabbed SWB and I sent the bottle down. I told her how Jesus came to this earth to tell the world about his father, about heaven and about his mercy, love and grace for everyone. But God still had to make a way for us to be in heaven with him because he is perfect and we are not. Because we are not perfect we can not be in God's presence. God not only sent his son to earth to tell people about him he also send his son to die for us. I took the straws and I made a cross with both of them. I placed SWB on cross. I told her the unimaginable pain and suffering he went through for us and how when he was nailed to the cross he was treated so badly you couldn't even tell he was a person. I took the white napkin and I placed it over the brown cup. I explained when he died, he took the punishment of our sins and made us white as snow to God. The cross also made a way to heaven for us and I took the straws and made them into a bridge from the table to the BWB. So because of God and his love for us by sending his son to die we have the absolutely amazing gift of being able to be in heaven with him at the end of this life, if we accept him in our lives.

Clean up, pray, hug and high five goodbye..done. 🙂
