About halfway through our month in Cambodia, I had this overwhelming sense that I needed to take pictures of the faces of the kids that we were spending time with every day.  I started slowly taking pictures of their faces, but I was filled with urgency that I NEEDED pictures of all of their faces.  I didn't know why.  it didn't make sense… but I love those kids, so I clicked away.

We weren't working with human trafficking in Cambodia, but I knew it was a problem there.  I knew that Cambodia was known for sex trade and that children were a huge part of that.  Today we watched a documentary about trafficking and the number of children trafficked in Cambodia is astonishing.  They are trafficked out of villages just like the one that we were working in and walking through every day and the similarities of signs of trafficking were eerily present… Almost all of the kids were under 11 years old.  The families were in poverty, but still had a lot of things that seemed out of their financial reach.  There were a lot of adults in the village just sitting around and not working…

I don't really know if kids were being sold into slavery in that village, but statistically, it's very possible. I do know now why God wanted me to take pictures of these children's faces now though. These kids need prayer.  I fell so in love with every one of these faces and while I don't know all of their names and I don't know a lot about their lives, I know that they are ALL God's children.  "See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are…" 1 John 3:1

I am asking you to pray HARD for these children.  Pray for their families.  Pray for their friends.  Pray for their futures.  Pray for their protection.  Pray that they are spared from even knowing the horrors of human trafficking and pray for those that are being trafficked, that God gives them a way out.  Pray for awareness and pray that eyes are opened to the reality that millions of people are being trafficked every day.  Pray that the work of Christ that is happening in that village continues and that Jesus's love is spoken over and shown to these kids every single day.  Please, just pray for them.
