So just as an update… this month has been pretty crazy. We're living in Trujillo, Peru and we take off tomorrow night for Lima for our squad debrief. For the past month, all 60 of us have been living together, working with IncaLink in many different ways. For example, Team Veracity did construction on their orphanage the first week, worked at the day care for the second week, and did sand boarding/skim boarding ministry the third week. Unfortunately, I was sick the third week and couldn't participate in the sand boarding with all the kids but I took a hike up with 4 teammates and 2 kids to go pick up trash and take a short run down a sand dune on a board. It was fun 🙂 Another ministry that I didn't not have the opportunity to participate in was the trash dump ministry where people go in to visit people that live and work in a trash dump. I'm sad I didn't get to experience this but you can visit some of my teammates' blogs for a window into that experience.
For now, here's another video about where we lived. Enjoy!
A couple more fun facts for today:
– It's my half birthday today.
– It is 2 of my squadmates' real birthdays today (Abby B & Christine!)
– My team will be spending another month in Peru (Ayyye!!! More details to come)
