I have been presented the chance of a lifetime to serve as a World Race missionary. The world race is a mission trip that is a challenging adventure for young adults to abandon worldly possessions and a traditional lifestyle in exchange for an understanding that it’s not about you; it’s about the Kingdom. We will travel to eleven different countries across the world for one month each. As it currently stands, I will be in Lesotho, Swaziland, South Africa, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Each country differs in their specific needs, so the mission work I will be performing will vary. It could include teaching English, working in orphanages, manual labor such as building new churches or schools, working with refugees, reaching and helping those stuck in prostitution due to sex slavery, and many other needs, all while sharing the word of Jesus Christ to those in unreached places. While I won’t know the exact work I will be doing until my arrival in each country, I am thrilled to see how God will use me, challenge me, and give me the strength to serve others while I serve Him.
Not everyone has the ability or opportunity to leave and serve as a missionary for a year, but it’s still possible for you to help out those struggling with hardships all over the world, and here’s how: First, I ask for your prayers for my team and myself as we travel to each country to serve. Second, if you feel called to support financially, I am required to raise $16,961 to be able to serve on this mission trip. This cost will cover all of my field expenses including travel, lodging and basic food during the entire duration I am away. Any amount, no matter how big or small, helps us in offering these people the help they deservedly need.
If you decide to support this mission financially, donations can be made online at sarahedwards.theworldrace.org All you need to do is click the “Support Me” tab.
I am incredibly appreciative of you taking the time to read about the adventure I am about to embark. If you wish to follow along throughout my experience, you can follow my blog for updates (sarahedwards.theworldrace.org). If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me!
Thank you and God bless!
