We woke up Christmas morning all set to leave for the mall. Katey and I wanted to give the Sutherlands family time so we got all ready to go and just as we were about to leave heard Christmas music playing from the living room and a knock at our door. Long story short they wouldn’t let us go and instead we sat down to a wonderful Christmas breakfast complete with homemade pancakes and eggs. (A few tears may have slipped from my eyes). Following breakfast we sat around the living room and opened presents. Did you catch that? We didn’t watch them open presents, we opened them too! The Sutherlands have gone above and beyond in taking care of us. Katey and I are so thankful for them.

Last night as I lay in bed I started thinking about Mary and Joseph and their struggle to find room in the Inn to give birth to Jesus. I can’t imagine how scared they must have been having no where to go. Katey and I were just two scared and lonely strangers to the Sutherlands and yet they welcomed us into their home. It’s really stopped and made me think is their room in my Inn to help those in need? Even strangers? Is there room in your Inn?

Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Sutherland, Kent, Dillon, Corrie and Rachel
for sharing your Christmas with us!

Katey and I fly out of Hong Kong tomorrow (the 27th) at 11 am. We’ll arrive in Manila around 1:30 pm and stay over night. The following day we’ll arrive on the island and reunite with our squad. WOOHOO! Thank you so much for all the prayers, encouragement and notes you left us. We are so blessed!

“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” ~Romans 12:9-13
