You know you’re a World Racer in Africa when….
1. While making dinner ash/dirt falls into the caldron and everyone is ok with eating it.
2. You search for not-smashed sugar cane in the road and don’t think twice about stopping to pick it up and eat it.
3. You have to remove the chickens from the shower before you can get in.
4. You are given warthog to cook for your guests.
5. You have never seen, cooked, served or eaten warthog up until now.
6. You learn to make apple crisp in a caldron over an open fire.
7. You step outside your tent and see zebras grazing.
8. Chickens fly in the schoolroom window and no one looks up.
9. You have dirt on your arm, your neck and in your hair most of the time.
10. Everywhere you go on foot or in your car people are smiling and waving at you. (Kind of feels like you’re in a parade).
11. You drive on the left side and people pass you in the break down lane.
12. You get proposed to often and it’s usually the first time the “proposer” has met you.
13. Jungle Oats- Oatmeal that you never want to see again.
14. Every day you drive by or are stopped by donkeys, goats, monkeys, cows, warthogs and pigs blocking the road.
15. You see a bunch of men chasing chickens for their dinner and you suddenly want to yell “run chickens, run for your lives!”.
16. As you eat a funny tasting hamburger from a local restaurant you stop and wonder what is this meat and then keep eating?
