The children of South Africa….
They may look small but they are tough!

Unsupervised they walk barefoot through dirt and trash to get most places (some as young as 2).
They know at least 2 languages and many know 4 or 5.
They will eat whatever is put in front of them and are not picky.
They love to explore, touch and play with new things (such as my hair)…

Many are wearing shoes that don’t fit and some are even mis-matched.
They can sing “Jesus loves me” in English and their faces are radiant when they sing.
They wear very little even though it’s winter here and I know they must be cold. They do not complain.
They are beautiful.

They want to be nurses, singers, doctors, pilots and pro-golfers when they grow up.

They want to go to college.
Many of their parents are divorced, no longer living or in contact with their children.
They live in tiny tin houses that are surrounded by barbed wire.
They love to play…
They call me “teacha” or “miss” when I am teaching them in small group time.
They are so precious to Jesus and us.
They are God’s children.
