Hey guys! I never thought I’d be writing a bio for something like this but here it goes…
I was born and raised in Cape Cod , Massachusetts(Go PATS!). My parents are strong Christians that love the Lord immensely and I was fortunate to have them as role models. I was saved at age six, but my relationship with God didn’t really start till much later. I have a younger sister, Liz, who works in advertising and a younger brother, James, who is a sophomore at EasternUniversity. I lived with my family on the Capetill heading off to college. After that, I spent 2 years at Philadelphia Biblical University, and completed my degree, with 2 more years at GordonCollege. During the end of my senior year in college, I realized I needed to make a radical change in my life. I had been a surface Christian for a long time and I started to have the desire to know Him more. And that’s basically when I began my relationship with Jesus. God really changed my desires that year. I felt Him leading me to Floridaafter graduation and that is where I lived for the last 5 years. While there, I was fortunate enough to work for First Baptist Church of Orlando’s youth group for 4 years. God blessed my time in Orlandotremendously. He gave me an awesome church and an amazing group of Christian friends. It was with those friends that I shared some incredible experiences, such as snorkeling in the Keys, performing at Sea World, camping trips, swimming in the Amazon, teaching Vacation Bible School in Brazil, working at a homeless shelter and being a youth camp counselor. Also, during those years, God took me to the Rain forest to witness to three different Amazon Tribes. It was the most incredible event of my life. It was my first encounter as a missionary and the people we met had such a hunger for the word. I’ve never felt so stretched and challenged and uplifted as I did with those tribes.
This past year has been really challenging for me. I spent the summer battling depression. It was very scary since I’d never experienced anything like it. My sister came home to try and cheer me up and while home came across the world race site. She knew I loved the mission trip I had gone on a few years ago and was determined to get me to go on one again. I wearily filled out the short application. I never thought God would choose me for something like this. God has lifted me out of the valley though and I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am for the WR! I practically jumped out of my skin when I got the call that I had been accepted for the World Race 2007. And now I am back on the Cape, until I leave for the race. God has allowed me to spend some precious time with my family for the next six months. I am honored, excited and scared that I get the chance to spread the gospel and travel the world. Woo-hoo! God sure is full of surprises and I can’t wait to see what He is going to do next! I’m really looking forward to meeting my team!!! And would love to hear from any and all of you 🙂
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”
~Hebrews 12:1
