Everyone knows that life on the World Race is completely unpredictable. That anything can change at the drop of a hat, and you must be flexible. Otherwise, you'll probably go insane, or your head would explode.
Sometimes it means waiting in line for three hours in the freezing cold at a train station in Beijing waiting for a taxi because your train was sitting on the tracks for three hours. Sometimes it means eating porridge for two or three meals a day, and learning to not necessarily enjoy it, but you get by and understand that food is energy. You begin to see that you have to roll with the punches, and find joy in it.
These past few days, our squad has been in Beijing for our eight month debrief. Which is purely insane, might I add…these months are just flying by. There I was, soaking up our last bit of time in China, our last few days in Asia after five amazing months here. I was taking in the sights with my team, eating delicious Chinese food for ridiculously cheap prices, climbing the Great Wall, walking around Tienanmen Square, and just enjoying the fellowship of the people around me.
Then came that change. That one moment. That blip on the radar that I never, ever expected at this debrief. One that I know God had His hand in, but it quite honestly shocked me.
There we were, my team CLP, sitting in our team debrief with our squad leaders and some staff from home. It was amazing, and a blessing for our team to be there, it definitely filled my heart. Then, I was asked to stay for a minute.
I sat….feeling awkward, not knowing what it was about.
Then, everything became clear.
And, I am excited to now announce that I am now a Team Leader! Sounds weird to say, really. But there it is. After much prayer on behalf of all the people involved, we took the steps forward in obedience that God had step before us.
My team is now Team TUFF, or, Together Under Fearless Faith. I am humbled and excited to be a part of their family, now my family, for these final three months on the World Race. I know that God has amazing plans in store for all of this, and I'm thrilled to see these months unfold.

God has been preparing my heart for this. Even before I was asked to step up, God laid special words on my heart. While I didn't really know the full meaning of what He meant until after, He has, as always lined my steps perfectly.
So now I walk forward in obedience to follow Him into the unknown. Leading this amazing team for the next three months in Eastern Europe. I can't wait to see what He has in store for the seven of us at this appointed time! Please keep us all in your prayers as we adjust to a new culture, new people, new ministry, and our new team. Blessings to you all!
