China in a nutshell:
-MINI TEAMS: My newly
enlarged team split and became two small teams of 4.
-wearing the same one pair of jeans, underarmour shirt and teal fleece for the entire month

-Fringe! (tv show the four on my mini team is hooked on)
-getting comfortable with EVERYone starring at me

-acclimating to the different standards of
construction…holes, unleveled floors, cracked foundation, etc
-sweeping 7 times in 2 days and still not satisfied

-Finding myself loving the game of charades needed to communicate
-smiling and saying thank you and being ok with silence and strange looks
-eating at the same noodle restaurant every day
-walking 30 minutes to get to internet availability
-getting in the habit of rolling up my pants legs before
entering the bathroom due to the leaky sink making the entire floor constantly
wet
-BABY CHAPS are ingenious: split butt pants that make botty training a snap

-being followed like a shadow in the grocery store
-seeing the men and women participating in separate
activities out on the sidewalks: women
knit, men play chess and cards

-searching for chocolate or any sort of sweets is
fruitless. Sweets here just aren’t
sweet.
-busting personal space bubbles to investigate the food choices of others in order to point out what we want to eat
-inhaling smoke with every breath (and silently worrying about the health of my lungs each day) and sawdust and wood glue
