Brand New Day

This is the devotional that started our day today.  It is from Dawson Memorial Baptist Church’s website.  They have short and inspirational daily postings.

Today team REAL moves from Speia, Moldova to Tiraspol, Transnistria.  We begin a new ministry, with new contacts, with new living arrangements.  This devotion is perfect to encourage a positive outlook in all of us.  There are many unknowns for our next ministry and we need not “suppose” the worst.  Expectations hinder experiences.  We must have trust in the Lord’s ability to use us regardless of circumstances!

From April 17, 2012 Devotional:

Today is a brand new day. You can start the day on a positive note or you can start it by looking for problems. Amy Lowell advises, “Let us be of good cheer, remembering that the misfortunes hardest to bear are those which never come.”
Helen Steiner Rice has written a poem, QUIT SUPPOSIN’ that might help you get your week off on the right foot.
Don’t start your day by supposin’ that trouble is just ahead,
It’s better to stop supposin’ and start with prayer instead,
And make it a prayer of thanksgiving for the wonderful things God has wrought,
Like the beautiful sunrise and sunset, God’s gifts that are free and not bought.
For what is the use of supposin’ the dire things that could happen to you and
worrying about some misfortune that seldom if ever comes true?
So if you desire to be happy and get rid of the misery of dread,
Just give up supposin’ the worst things and look for the best things instead.
