Today is Sunday, its traditionally the first day of the calendar week in the United States.

Today is the first day my team mates and I will go to our new Ministry site.

Today I took my first shower in the Dominican Republic.  It was cold.

Today was the first time I’ve changed clothes.

First time to wear my new gear (today   it’s the pink shirt and black zip off capris- thanks mom and SuSu)

Today I used my first toothpaste tablet.  (and it is great)

Today I will go to and watch my first sporting event of the year.  Our Minister’s son plays in a baseball
league here in San Jaun.  We will be spectators and cheerleaders today! (I know what you’re thinking, the BCS championship was last Monday night, so that would count; however I did was unable to watch)

Today I will meet the Eglesie de Mogollon members for the first time.

True Dominican Republic coffee nourished my caffeine habit for the first time this morning.(Daniella-there is a percolator at our house.  I was so excited.  And thanks to you, I was able to make great coffee for my team!)

Today I learned my first new words: zappos, mi gusta, and my favorite: sonria, which means smile!

First run through town, to see neighborhoods, dogs, and just observe the people.

Today was my first successful monetary exchange; we bought house drinking water for just 80 pesos (four water cooler tanks).  Filtered water is essential for health, the tap, shower and toilet water is piped from the street.
