Tomorrow is the start of a four day weekend here in the states.  Monday is Memorial Day, meant to celebrate fallen soldiers, whether or not one considers them heroes.  I googled Memorial Day and thought this was a nice summary point:
It is not important who was the very first, what is important is that Memorial Day was established. Memorial Day is not about division. It is about reconciliation; it is about coming together to honor those who gave their all.

I believe the day is not just about those who died but all those who willingly fought for the American cause.  Though most people are more concerned about what to cook out or how to create an award winning bbq sauce and potato salad, let us not forget that there is a deeper meaning to the holiday. Similar in idea to the "Keep Christ in Christmas" slogan, this Memorial day Remember the Military. If you know a woman or man who lost a love in war, pray for them.  If you know someone who has, will, or is serving for your country-tell them thank you.  There is a great deal to be said for those willing to serve in such a selfless manner, working and fighting to protect millions of fellow Americans they will never even know.

Pray for our nations soldiers and their families.  It is hard to be deployed, and perhaps harder to be left at home.
