Embarking on the World Race has opened my life up in so many ways… I have experienced a fair amount of “firsts”…

My first tattoo was etched in Thailand…

My first swim in the sea in Vietnam…

My first climb up a cliff was in Indonesia…

Besides these, were many other instances of stepping outside of comfort, most often involving transportation and cuisine!

There’s something about leaving the comforts of home and routine that help you step out of your comfort zone to experience life in a whole new way!

Many of these “firsts” I’ve experienced are things that I classified as “unsafe” at home. It’s as if I have been seeking self-preservation, rather than truly living life for all that it is!

There is much freedom in letting go and trying new things! Once I let go of my initial fear, I experienced excitement as the adrenaline rush took over! In fact, the rush is so exciting that it is a motivator to step out of my comfort zone more often!

After experiencing these things, I was left thinning, “why didn’t I try this sooner? I’ve missed out on this good thing for so many years!” I look forward to many more “firsts” that draw me out into the world!

So, just as I share this to remind myself, I share it to encourage you – if there is something you have been afraid to do because of fear, press in to that and go for it! You’ll likely find, it’s not as scary as you thought or realize that you love it!

So, try new things and pursue whatever you fear most!
