Hey all!
So, after about 30 hours of travel, we finally made it to our destination for the month – Chiang Mai! We are in the land of smiles and the land of Buddha. I could smell the “greeenness” of the landscape as we traveled down the road. It’s surprisingly a lot less “third world” than I had expected.
Our hosts are very friendly and gracious. We are sleeping in beds for the month and even have daily showers! We shower on the roof of the building, which is also where we do our laundry. It was beautiful to see the sunrise from the top this morning!
I’ve been relieved and excited to finally meet my team! Everyone is kind and eager to work together. I even found out that my teammate from Russia is really good friends with a girl I grew up with in my home church!! What a SMALL world! Another way that God continues to speak into my life.
We haven’t done much as of yet, but we’ll be leaving for training camp in the next few days, so I won’t have internet access at that time. So, I wanted to send a quick update now.
I’ll post pictures as soon as I have some to share!
Be praying that training camp goes well – that we can work together as a team, come to terms with any personal issues that come up, and just enjoy the experience!
Thanks again for your support!
Sarah
Btw – upon landing in Thailand, I had opportunity to have a REAL Thai Iced Tea… And, it did not dissapoint! 😉
