So often I find myself asking people whether they need prayer and saying I’ll pray for them, but then I forget to do it; or I tell people I will continue to prayer for them after spending time praying for them that day but not following through.

God has opened my eyes to my imperfection, untrustworthiness and horrible habits and convicted me of this sin the day before we headed over to Burma. That morning we were encouraged to ask God for visions and directions of what He wanted us to do when we arrived across the border. I found myself praying and focusing on those things until a load of prayer requests and promises I had made to many individuals came flooding into my mind and I found myself convicted to pray for each and every person I had promised and made a commitment to praying for.

I know people do forget to pray at times, but God has convicted me to start writing down people’s prayer requests and when I do remember to pray, I should take some time right then and there to say a prayer for that individual, group or situation. Just like a girl that I met in a small village a few weeks ago who was born without pupils, but now has eyes which cross interchangeably. I have felt convicted to pray for her daily; believing that one day, God will do a miracle in her life and restore her to full vision.  I can honestly say that I haven’t prayed for her every day but when I do remember, I have brought it up before the Lord.

I want to apologise to all of you who I have promised to pray for but have not done so. I hope you will forgive me and allow me a second chance to listen to your prayer requests if you have any, let me write them down and lift them up to Jesus, as often as I can on your behalf.

I firmly believe in the power of prayer and that God listens to each individual’s conversations with Him like it says in 1 John 5:14-15, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him.” I also know that God answers prayers in His own timing and in His own way that brings about a bigger purpose than we could ever realise.

I want to be a prayerful woman and I know Jesus wants to bless you abundantly.

Please let me know if there is anything that I can be praying for you.
