Okayyy… after a bunch of sad attempts and random thoughts as to how to get this blog going I guess I should just try to jump in!

My name is Sarah… good start.
I LOVE international… everything? πŸ™‚
I’m the first generation in my family to be born in the United States; wouldn’t exchange these roots for nothin’!
((Please leave a comment that guesses where my parents are from! I love hearing people guess cuz I get all sorts of things lol))
My family and I are suuuper tight tho we’ve been living states
& oceans away from each other for the last 3ish years. Going on
this race is going to be hard, but I don’t think my family is too
surprised.

Why is this so hard? I’m not good at random facts about myself.

Hm,
I love people. My 3 roommates are my best friends of all time.
Strange thing is, I’m half introvert (like 52%), half extravert (48%)
and it gets rather confusing at times but I think I’m gettin the hang
of it.
I will hardly ever turn down something  chocolate or just food in
general. Haha, to give you some idea: my first word was “banana” and I
named my favorite childhood teddy bear, Peanut Butter. πŸ™‚

Picky eaters are a huge “pet peeve” of mine, as is the term “pet peeve,” and the feeling when my socks get wet.

I don’t have a lot of distinct favorites now, but as a child, my favorite
animal was a dolphin. I wanted to be a dolphin trainer for forever!!
(And at some point there was being a paleontologist… then a professional
singer. Strange/random, I know.)

Now, I am one semester away from finishing my B.A. in [Global] Social Entrepreneurship & a minor in Music Business!

My favorite food was spaghetti (Italian is still my general
favorite to this day, tho home cooking can’t be beat). And I will
always love the color blue.

I can’t decide whether I love mountains or beaches better–
probably why I love California cuz they have both. πŸ™‚ Oddly enough, I
grew up in the Midwest without either–Cornfields, baby, allll cornfields.
Ever since I visited Cape Cod 6 years ago, I’ve been obsessed with
anything remotely sailor-like. Sailing knots; navy/white/dk brown
combinations … you get the idea.

My life would be incomplete without traveling abroad… or in general. My first 3
mission trips were spent in South/Central America during my pre-teenish
years. Turning 14 in Venezuela was my first birthday abroad, but I will
be turning 22 in our first month of the race πŸ™‚

For some reason I feel a deep need to say I’ve never broken a bone
before. It’s one of those random facts that is for some reason
significant to tell people lol.

I am the youngest of 3 but have always been the one to just “go.” I
went abroad with Teen Mania at 12 years old, moved 8 hours away for
college and am about to go on this race. My parents definitely wish my
older brother was the more adventurous one than their “baby,” but what
can ya do? πŸ™‚

Haha, okay. I think I’m done. This will be much less
strange/random/awkward when I don’t have to talk about myself via
blogosphere!
