About a week ago we moved into the city to a small church that we are now calling home.
The first appearance of it was a huge culture shock for many of us.
There is one small outdoor cinder block toilet and a small room next to the shower used for cold showers from a hose, and thirty world racers!
The funniest part of it is that no one has ever been able to find where the hose ends, so it’s still a mystery where our water comes from.
At night the world seems to wake up, there are roosters that crow at all hours of the night, puppies yelping, drunks yelling, cars screeching, and about every other distraction you can think of.
Thankfully my earplugs have come in extremely handy, and my tent has become a sanctuary for alone time.

We have started doing a few various ministries.
Our main ministry is helping our new friend Noe plant a church at his house.
Every service we help his kids set up benches made of cinder blocks and boards, and stand out in the street to greet people as they come in.
Our first service started at six o’clock, and only one person had showed up, and to top it all off, the sky above was on the verge of raining.
We were a little nervous, so we prayed for the rain to hold off, and for more people to show up.
God definitely answered our prayers, as the sky completely cleared up, and by the time we started church, all the benches were filled, and there were even a few people standing in the street.
Luckily in Mexican time being an hour late is completely acceptable.

The best part of it is that we were able to bring our new friend Carlos, whom we befriended at a fabric shop, to accept Christ.
Carlos is sixteen and has a very gentle and humble spirit.
He is always willing to hang out with us crazy Americans, and even plays on our world race soccer team, even though we always get beat terribly by the locals.
We have been doing sports ministry at a local gymnasium twice a week, where we play soccer and basketball and invite kids to come to church.
Then twice a week we also have a children’s night where we get to play with the kids and do a little vbs.
The kids are so cute, and so much fun to play with!

Last night we were able to participate in a youth night at the church we are staying at.
We had a blast eating pizza, playing games, and the best part, singing and dancing!
Chris and Meagan started the party off with Mexican music, and soon the whole group was dancing in circles around the church, it was so much fun!
God is really doing some amazing things through us here in Mexico, and I know it is only going to get better and better and better!!!
