Hey guys! I’m Sarah and yes, my last name is just like the animal- it’s Cherokee. Haha We have a lot of Native American blood on my Dad’s side of the family. But my Mother’s Irish came through so every summer I try and try to tan but it’s not easy… I might as well embrace that I’m a white Buffaloe. 🙂 We’re rare…
I’m 23 years old. I was born in Florida, lived in Texas for a few years and now make my home in Sweet Home Alabama. I’ve known Jesus since I was 4 years old and He and I have walked quite a road together ever since then. I’m an only child but my cousins and I and all of our family are very close which is such a blessing.
I’m a senior in Bible College and have worked in ministry since I was 18. I was on staff at my church for 4 years as a youth intern apart from other areas of serving. I love Jesus and I love people. I work at CVS Pharmacy, a job that I will be quitting in order to follow the Lord’s call and go on The World Race. When the Lord says, “Follow me,” you drop the fishing net and go, simple as that. And He’ll meet you. As surely as the sun will come up.
Fun stuff about me?
I love sleepovers and pillow fights and anything fun like that…
My biggest fear in life is marrying a man whose last name is either, “Wings” or “Herd.” Just kidding.
I’m easy going and never sarcastic but I do have a sense of humor that tends to work its way in…
Old movies are the best!! Anything with Katherine Hepburn or Ginger Rogers or Jack Lemmon.
I eat books. I read The Mark of the Lion Series at least once a year and always cry at Elsie Dinsmore. Autobiographies are my favorite.
Reruns of I love Lucy and Downton Abbey NEVER get old…
I can probably quote word for word Pride and Prejudice, Anne of Green Gable and Little Women…
As a kid some of my happiest memories were spent on road trips with my parents with them driving and talking and me curled up trying to sleep in the back seat- feeling completely snug and happy. Because of that I love bus rides, plane rides, anything where I’m not in charge of getting us there.
I love kids of any age and have been a summer camp counselor for several years. Getting painted up and cheering for team wars is THE BEST. Scariest thing that ever happened was when a kid choked in the cafeteria and I had to do the Heimlich Maneuver.
I play the song Oceans by Hillsong over and over and over and over….
I name my cars.
I have cousins who are Thai, Fijian, Indian, and Japanese.
I love any kind of ethnic food and find the best restaurants are the sketchy looking ones that no one knows about. Don’t judge a book by its cover!
I was a total Disney kid growing up and will be singing Akuna Matata when we land in Africa…
I really like to cook. I made a twenty something pound turkey for Thanksgiving (only dropped it once, don’t tell the family) and love to try new things. I just learned to make homemade Boba Tea (Asian bubble tea) at home and SO like it. Asian Markets are the best.
That’s me in a nutshell!
Most Important Thing You Should Know…
That’s the gist of me except for the humbling confession that I am in no way capable for paying for this year of ministry. I’m living paycheck to paycheck. So when you see that little financial thermometer go up, it’s all God, because there’s no way I can do it by myself. There’s a button that says, “Support Me.” If you’re reading this, please pray about doing that in anyway you deem worthy. It would mean the world to me, literally.
