It’s finally that time you’ve been looking forward to ALL YEAR–one month until launch. The World Race just seemed like an impossible plan until now. Suddenly, the race you’ve been called to just got REAL. Ok now breathe, deep breath in, now slowly out. It’s ok.
You’ve probably already turned to the scriptures, or someone told you about these verses if you’ve expressed your anxiety:
Philippians 4: 6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God,which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
or maybe something like:
Psalm 94:19 “When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.”
Those are wonderful verses, and I pray they actually speak to your heart; however, I want to particularly speak to the people who “KNOW” these verses and verses like it, but still feel panicked about the amount of time left to complete everything they need to do before they leave.
You’re probably frustrated with yourself that you don’t have enough faith, or you’re doubting yourself and your ability to FULLY trust God in ALL things. “I mean, seriously, have you SEEN my to-do list?!” I get it. My to-do list is HUGE and I’ve added more to it every day. It’s daunting. I’ve stopped breathing temporarily while looking at it a couple times. I don’t have it all together either, so I’m not speaking from a place of higher knowledge, but if you don’t retain anything else that I’ve said, I want you to retain what I’m about to say.
We have a month left to finish that to-do list before launch. One single month. Does that not seem like much time to you? You probably said no, so now answer this question: In each country that we go to next year, how long will we be in one place?
That’s right–ONE month.
“Oh…”
So right now your to-do list is HUGE because God is preparing you to be capable of accomplishing what seems impossible in only one month. So instead of wallowing in the sea of stress, lift your head and thank God for this time of preparation! Thank Him for this time of struggle so that you may “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (James 1:2-4) I don’t know about you, but I’d love to start this race by not lacking anything.
Almighty Father, you are so gracious! Thank you God, for my extensive to-do list! May I learn everything you want me to learn in this month before launch! May your truth bring some peace to my brothers and sisters right now. Bless them in all they do. We love you, Papa.
