She feels my heart with joy

on days that I am down

She laughs at all my jokes

she's the only one iv'e found

She is precious in my eyes

and her smile is so bright

Iv'e met heaven's angel

if you met her you would know I am right

We color and we dance

We laugh and we sit

When kids make her mad

She will through a little fit

She is definitely an angel from heaven

God sent her right to me

Even though she looks seven

She is really fourteen

On the first full day of being in Cambodia a little girl comes up the stairs and starts laughing and talking.

I do not know the words coming out of her mouth and I was a little startled at first. She did not let the fact

that we were strangers stop her when she wanted to engage with us. I immediately had a melted heart

and started taking pictures with her. She is bold, loud and a funny one at that. She is a miniature me I think.

She comes to my 5-6 pm  class at the school for English for Children. She is in and out, talking and laughing

during class. I try to stop her but she makes people and myself laugh so we continue class while she entertains

us all. She lives down the road from the school house so a team mate and myself will visit her on days we need

a hug. Yes her hugs are that powerful.

There are a few other factors in her life that if you did not know you would never know anything is wrong. She has

a mild form of down's syndrome. Her mother has married multiple men and tells people when they leave that

they die. She stays home alone all day to fend for herself. She has to find things to eat during the day when her

mother is not home. She longs for people around her so she will either go to the neighbors home or come visit us

at the school house if we are here. No one of these things matter to her. She continues to live everyday like there

is no tomorrow.

Her personality and presence makes negative things go away. She is perfect in God's eyes and she is

definitely perfect to me.

Yesterday we received some news that she left. We had not seen her in two days so we went to her house to see where she was. We were told by her neighbor that she went with her mother to harvest rice. "Oh thats cool. When will she be back?" we said. We were told she was not coming back till February. This broke my heart. There was no good bye. No see you later. Just gone. I can think of people who have been in and out of my life but I knew I would see them again. This teaches me not to take moments with people for granted. We need to cherish every second of the day we have with people. We never know when we will get to see them again. I know I will see her in heaven. She will always have a place in my heart.
