Since I have been in Kenya I have experienced a lot of new things……..
Kids are either infatuated by me and want to pet my hair on my head as well as my arms and handshakes usually last about 10 seconds longer than they usually do. On the flip side many kids are beyond terrified of me and burst out into tears as soon as they see me because they have never seen a white person, they simply just don’t know if I am human.

This is my buddy Fernandos and he told his mom that he thought I was white because I got burnt and all of my black fell off.

The little boy in the first row wearing a white shirt was petrified of me. After he shook my hand he examined his arm to see if I had made him white on any parts. After our first encounter he would not come in a 10 foot radius of me and would cry if I got close to him.

Plumbing is also a little bit different in Kenya. Sometimes we have running water and sometimes we dont. This factor can change your showering experience very quckly. If you dont have running water and you want to be clean you take water out of a jug and boil it then pour it in a bucket and use a cup.

This is our bathroom during the day. As a woman I think it is very difficult to use. I will let you use your imagination.as to why.

Here are just some fun pictures:
