Ready or not, here comes an update!
Tomorrow I will be moving to Gainesville, GA where I will begin a 4-month program with CGA. I will be joining the Field Leadership track with a group of other World Race Alumni interested in growing in and pursuing a deeper understanding of leadership. The goal of this course is to raise up leaders for trips such as the World Race, Passport, Gap Year, or others through AIM (Adventures in Missions).

So what is CGA?
CGA (Center for Global Action) is a fairly new program started by AIM with the purpose of empowering and equipping world racers once they return home. The Lord often highlights individual gifts and passions in people while they’re on the race. They discover what makes them come alive and where they feel that they can be most effective for the Kingdom of God.
CGA offers a variety of tracks (field leadership, compassion, justice, healing, worship, non-profit, storytelling, teaching english, etc.) that people choose based on where they feel the Lord is leading them. Tracks are broken down into semesters, 4 months each. You can join for 1,2, or 3 semesters. The field leadership track is only 1 semester and will conclude on December 19th.
How did I feel called to CGA?
I first heard about CGA on the World Race in Uganda at our month 8 debrief. Our Squad Coordinator, Hope, introduced us to CGA, explained how it worked and what purpose it served. Initially, I was hesitant. My squad often joked about which of us would come off the race and go work for AIM. I certainly wasn’t going to be one of those weirdos.
But I remembered my month in Rwanda, and the joy and sense of purpose I’d found serving with Amanda and Hannah (see my “The Month I had to Babysit Americans” blog), 2 young college gals who joined our team that month. My vision had began to come together as I identified that my main ministry at that time was serving them; listing to them, speaking truth, and praying for them.
I thought I’d go on the World Race and fall in love with a certain country or specific ministry. But I found in Rwanda that the ministry I desire to be a part of most is activating my generation, right here in America, for the Kingdom of God.
I knew CGA would give me the chance to continue growing in wisdom and leadership, and would open doors for me to be sharpened while sharpening others.

What does a day with CGA look like?
9am-12:30pm: Internship with a department at the AIM office (you may be working with fundraising, logistics, promoting different programs, making phone calls to future world racers, coordinating future events, or pretty much anything they assign you to do)
12:30pm-1:30pm: lunch
1:30pm-5pm: classes designed specifically for those of us in the leadership track
*Our track will also have the opportunity to serve at the World Race training camp in October as well at with a weekend missionary conference in Atlanta.
What does it cost?
The total cost for a semester with CGA is $3,950. That covers the cost of food, housing (I will be in a house with 3-7 other women), 4-day camping trip to kick off the semester, classes, conferences, and any community trips we may take.
The good news is…I am only $1,110 away from being fully funded!
This is where I need your help. If you would like to partner with me financially, there are two ways you can donate.
