I have been pondering over possible blog topics for the past week. Here are a few that I have come up with…in no particular order:
1. When everything’s made to be broken…I just want you know who I am.
—We live in a broken world….everything around us is made to be broken…hearts, bones, wills, leases, contracts, relationships…but God is made to be sturdy, secure, relational, severe and rescuing. Rely on God and allow your heart to break with what breaks His. He will mend the brokenness. I wonder if everyone, everywhere would believe, trust, live for God…would our world continue to exist in this broken state or would God’s love cover all that brokenness?
2. A little Soccer on a Tuesday night.
—Sitting on the bleachers, waiting for my unreasonably late 10:25pm game to begin, I realized that I am so blessed. I have a great group of women whom I have played soccer with for the past year. I have a good job that allows me to be a part of this team. I am surrounded by excitement, fun, support, encouragement and humor. This is both on the soccer field and off. My Tuesday night soccer team/game is just one of many many things (comforts) (familiars) that I will be giving up for the growth of my faith, for the need of others, for the Lord.
3. When darkness turns to light, this ends…
—Hmmm, what ends when your darkness turns to light? When your self-belief turns to belief in God? When your questioning turns to prayer? Wow, I think the real question is…What doesn’t end? One life ends as a new beginning in Jesus begins. When you have Jesus as your forever friend, His light shines through you. I want this light to be the first thing that people notice about me! I don’t want there to be any question as to where my strength, my light, my love comes from. It comes from the Lord.
