It’s the first day of December which means I have 38 days until my World Race adventure starts! I wanted to post a little update of all the things that are going on with fundraising and the ways you can get involved before I leave. I will be writing a couple more blogs about how I’m feeling and what God is doing in my life and heart as the month progresses.

One thing I wanted to share with my local friends: I will be speaking in Hudson, MA, at Grace Baptist Church’s GO Conference on December 10 at 6 pm. The conference “is the yearly celebration of the Global Outreach partners of Grace Baptist Church. Grace partners fulfill the Great Commandment of Matthew 28:19-20 from metro-west to the indigenous peoples living in rural villages in the outermost parts of the world. During the Go Conference you will have the opportunity to learn about how God is using our partners to bring the nations to Him and how vital our support is to our partners.”

If you’d like to hear more about my testimony and the World Race, you can go to this link and check out the schedule for the whole day and register for the parts you want to go to!

I am almost at $12,000, which leaves only $5,000 left to raise before I am fully funded! I want to launch one last fundraiser to get that last $5,000 in before I leave January 7th so that I can focus wholeheartedly on each ministry and the people I’m with instead of on fundraising. I ALSO have one other exciting request that doesn’t require money, but your WORDS so keep reading!

ADOPT-A-SQUARE

There are 100 squares ranging from $1-$100 that you can adopt. Whether you can’t spare more than $2 or you have a favorite number of #81 that you would like to adopt everyone can get involved with this fundraiser! The special part about this is that 11 of these squares are secretly marked, one for each country I’m going to. If you choose one of these 11 squares, I will let you know which country you got and I will write you a letter after I serve in that country, detailing all the amazing things that happened while I was there that you helped make possible with your contribution!

I will color in each square that someone adopts. Let’s get this whole thing colored in by January 7! If I do, then I will be FULLY FUNDED! Let me know which square you’d like to adopt and then click the “donate” button on my blog. Remember: all donations are tax-deductible!

Letters for the Journey!

Now THIS is something I am really excited about! I LOVE the written word if you don’t already know and I would love to take some of YOUR words with me on my World Race! Since I will be moving around so much and international mail can be unreliable and slow, and there will be villages that don’t even have a post office, sending me letters will be almost impossible.

So, here is an alternative. Think of it like this: a Christmas present that doesn’t cost you a penny! It will cost your time, though.

I would love to read some comforting words while I’m away from my loved ones this next year. Letters would be the best kind of Christmas gift I could receive from people I know and love.

Think of “Open When” letters: when I get on the first international flight, or when I’m homesick, or when I enter month 6, or for my birthday (which is February 28 FYI), or any other random time that you can think of! They can also be goodbye letters if you’d like to write down some inspirational parting words that I can read in the airport as I gaze longingly out the window with a tear on each cheek.

Mail them to me by the end of December so that I can pack them all up! I suggest putting your letter in a separate envelope that has “Open When” written on it and then mailing that to me in another envelope. My address is:

135 East Main Street

Apt. U-11

Westborough, MA 01581

COUNTRY JARS

This is a neat way to stay involved on my Race. I still have 7 country jars left to adopt! For $20 you can choose one of the countries I’ll be traveling to, pray for the country, its people, the spiritual environment and its physical needs, while collecting change in the jar. At the end of December/beginning of January you can collect the change in your jar and donate that amount on my blog. You can keep the jar while I’m gone next year to remind you to keep praying and once I go and serve in that country I will write you an email, letter or postcard detailing what you made possible in that country with your contribution.

Zimbabwe, South Africa, Macedonia, Thailand, Nepal, Bulgaria, and Cambodia are up for grabs!

PLEASE reach out to me by clicking on the button on the left side of this page that says “Email Me!” or emailing me at [email protected] if you have any questions, want to support me financially or in prayer, or just want to chat about life and God before I leave in 5 and a half weeks!
