I know my past two posts have been about asking for money, and I just want to start by playing the THANK YOU game.
THANK YOU for helping keep my sister Amanda on the field! She was able to meet the deadline and will be continuing with our Z family on this journey. Our next financial deadline is March 1st when our entire family has to be fully funded Which leads me to my next Thank You…
THANK YOU for supporting me! With the generous donations already given and your continual monthly support I have reached the $14,800 fundraising goal! FULLY FUNDED is a phrase every racer excitedly looks forward to claiming and I am praising God that He has shown up so faithful and provided through your giving. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! This life changing journey would not be possible without you.
THANK YOU for taking the time to read these blogs and invest in this journey. Thank you for making an eternal impact on places all around the world, specifically in Mozambique this month at Beacon of Hope – Africa!
So, you may be asking…what exactly am I up to in Mozambique these days?
– getting to know and falling in LOVE with my new family, team Sound of Strength. Seriously, these women are INCREDIBLE!
– working in the gardens on the property
– writing Bible curriculum for the upcoming school year
– beating the heat by hiding in the shade of the mango trees
– serving with Angie, our contact and the founder of Beacon of Hope – Africa to prepare for the 10 boys she disciples and gives life skills training to throughout the year
– spending more and more time in the kitchen so that I can erase the phrase "I don't really cook" from my vocabulary
– seeking JESUS. more of HIM, less of me.
– seeing God move in the every day things in this "planting" season.
6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God makes it grow. 7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 8 The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. 9For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.
[1 Corinthians 3:6-9]
In some seasons we are called to plant, in others to water, and sometimes we are blessed to reap the harvest. Month 4 in Mozy is all about the planting, the tilling of the ground, preparing the way for what's to come. It's an honor to serve here and know that though we may not see the fruits of our labor, we can TRUST GOD that there will be fruit. He is faithful, faithful to the end.
