WE MADE IT!

so excited to finally be in Manila! check out my squadmates' blogs  for more pictures of our travel adventures.

After a bus ride (44 packs and 44 peopls plus daypacks on a school bus…welcome to community!), a Marta ride, flights from ATL to LAX to Hong Kong to Manila and a short bus ride, the Z family finally arrived! Our inaugural World Race travel day went smoothly and no bags were lost, praise the Lord. We have spent the past few days at KIM (Kids International Ministry) in Manila recouping from some serious jetlag and learning about Filipino culture. We have been SO BLESSED by Jeff and people of the KIM base here!

Today was an incredible way to start the race. As most of you know, my best friend Rebecca Weaver just finished her World Race with S Squad on August 31. We were SO grateful to have one day together in between our crazy adventures, and it has been really surreal to so quickly transition into this role reversal for another 11 months. The whole deal really came fully circle today in a beautiful picture of God's healing and redemption and enormous plan.

Click here to read Rebecca's blog about Sparrow, her little man who captured her heart here in Manila. Today our squad got to take a tour of KIM and learn about the huge impact they are having in the community. Part of our tour included a visit to the children's home where Rebecca worked during her month here. This precious little guy is doing AMAZING and his body has been healed in incredible ways. PRAISE JESUS!!

We're off to Puerto Galera to start ministry at Threads of Hope in the morning! Pray for our team and the relationships we'll be building and the life we are praying to speak into the community there.

Hey – Check out our team's video to answer the question "Why are we here?"
