Well here goes the 1st blog about ME…WOOP WOOP
When I got the phone call that I was accepted to go to The World Race my first thought was "who am I to go" then followed by "AHHHHH God Your sending me".
I find myself ready to go and not ready to go. I think of all the people I have spent the last 4years growing in God with how I will miss them. Then I think of all the new friends I am making during this new journey and great joy in my heart takes place.
I have chosen to go on this trip because the idea of leaving all my comforts behind and seeking the unknown with God is what I am made for. After going to Japan for a month in June 2011 I was finding out how hungry I was to know God as the traveler He made me. I sought out a few other missions programs but none stuck on me like the World Race. Committing your life to serve "the least of these" seemed to ring loud in my heart. To be stretched to walk out Luke 10 like-faith set my soul on fire. As I read the blogs of racers who went before me I was moved to be able to bring the Kingdom of God to the villages, cities, and towns seeing the world transformed through tangible expressions of God's love.
As I prepare for the journey ahead I pray for my foot to be healed, money to come in, and my heart to be ready. All I can do is take it step by step, choice by choice, yes by yes and day by day. Knowing God is in control has the wheel and said "we will cross to the other side".
