The evening of Friday, April 16th will bring a unique event to the nation’s oldest city combining fashion and philanthropy.  “Models for a Mission” benefit fashion show, beginning at Zhanras at 10 p.m., will showcase male and female models strutting the hottest spring fashions from Rochelle’s Boutique and local surf hangout, The Surf Station.

Proceeds from the event are going to support local missionary, Sara Hansen, on The World Race, an eleven month mission trip that will place her in 11 different countries within 11 months.  Launching this July, Sara will begin her year long journey by continuing earthquake relief efforts in Haiti. From there she will continue on to the Dominican Republic, Cambodia, Romania, Turkey, China, Mozambique, Malawi, the Philippines, and Thailand.  Sara and her team will be serving in capacities ranging from ministering to the homeless, holding health clinics for AIDS orphans in Mozambique, and working with victims of human trafficking in Asia.

An eccentric mission, the runway show supporting it comes with an eccentric twist.  The audience will have a chance to bid on a meal with a model.  Admission to the event is free, and auction paddles will be sold for $5 at the door.  Purchasing a paddle will allow bidders an opportunity to enjoy a meal with the model of their choice at a local St. Augustine restaurant.  V.I.P. booths including auction paddles, a bottle of champagne and prime seating are available for $40 – $50 on a first come first serve basis.  Please call Zhanras at 904-823-3367 to reserve.
