Merci beaucoup. ¡Muchísimas gracias!  Molto grazie.  Molt gràcies.  Obrigado.  감사합니다. 谢谢. ありがとう.  Danke.

THANK YOU!!!

I hope by the time I post this, you will already have received my thank you card or it’s on its way; and look out for my postcards – they might be a bit late, depending on where I am when I send them.  Unless you happen to be Anonymous (#1 or #2), in which case, I can’t mail anything to you…but I would if I knew who you were, I promise.  🙂

*not person’s real name (duh) but she did such a huge favor I’d be remiss if I didn’t some how recognize her support.
You gave freely of your hard-earned money (and a couple of you won’t even let me give you credit!).  You dispensed advice pro bono when you could’ve billed me for a pretty penny.  You literally equipped me.  You stayed up late and worked magic to help me record and produce a CD to get the word out.  You took really nice photos of me with a fancy camera and spruced them up so I look all nice.  You vaccinated me at/below cost.  You prevent me from contracting malaria.  You counsel me.  You cheer me on.  You feed me.  You watch out for me and point out my blind spots.  You’re supporting my squadmates and letting me take the credit.  You remind me to see the larger picture when I get stuck on details.  You bring me down to earth when I get ahead of myself.  You house me.  You’ll ease the trauma of coming back.  You promise to be ready to receive me with open arms and hearts.  You paid me even though I missed a week of work because of training camp.  You’ve done and will do much on my behalf.  You’ve been and mean a lot to me.

    Most importantly, you pray.

Like Ezekiel, you are standing in the gap for me, my team, my squad, our generation, our world.  Your prayers are bathing me in His presence with which I can go anywhere.

I pray the Lord blesses you immeasurably more than you’ve given.  I believe – sooner or later, but I hope sooner – God will reward your faithful, obedient stewardship of your resources to partner in the fulfilling of the Great Commission.

God is working mightily everywhere.  A lot can happen in eleven months.  Some of you will get engaged or married or have your first kid, or your second, or third, or seventh, I dunno.  Some of you will get a new car, or a house, or a new job.  Some of you will move to a different neighborhood, a different state, a different country.  Some of you will still be living in the same place, working at the same office, still be single or still be married with no (new) kids.  Regardless of what changes or what stays the same, I pray that you yourself are radically transformed by the God who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

    A thousand times – I thank you.

To all the saints in Christ Jesus [back in the U.S.]:
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
I thank my God every time I remember you.
In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now,
being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
    It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart;
for whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me.
God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,
so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ,
filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God.
    – Philippians 1:1-11 (NIV, with some slight changes)
