A year from now, Lord willing, I start the World Race! Yay. I started my current job the beginning of this month (thank You, Lord) and I am still overwhelmed and intimidated. Not so yay.

More often than not, lyrics of songs stir my heart as readily as Scripture does and “All That I Can Do” by Bethany Dillon is a current example. This bridge and the chorus are currently the prayer of my heart:

When the waves begin to rise and all my hope fails, in confidence I’ll close my eyes trusting You’ll be there

All that I can do is hold onto You and follow where You lead me, where You’re leading me
All that I can do is hold onto You and let You bring me through
It’s all I can do

I am excited at present to embark on this journey and a part of me wishes I were going right now, especially as the start of a new work-week is just a day away. But I will do well to remember that “each day has enough trouble of its own” and throughout the upcoming World Race, these lyrics will be just as pertinent then, if not more so, as they are now.
