Ecuador was Team Girasoles first month together, I was so exciting to see what God was going to do. I just knew it would be great.
Our first meeting as a team was in an empty room at the missionary house we were staying in that month. We all gathered around and talked about all we desired for the team. One thing stuck out the most from our conversation, we all had a desire to see Holy Spirit move like never before. We wanted to boldly speak, act and move under His direction. What an amazing thing to desire as a team. We were all on the same page and again I just knew this would work.
Our first Sunday service we hit the floor running with our desire to move under Holy Spirit. We were given a slot of time to introduce ourselves to our church for that month and participate by singing a song. We chose Our God by Chris Tomlin because we believed every word of the song for our new church. During our participation Holy Spirit started working and I could tell Olivia was feeling it as she was boldly praying out loud and with authority that only God could give. As I was standing there I could feel word vomit building up inside me. I knew God wanted me to speak up because He had something to tell the church, but I was a little apprehensive. So, after trying to hold it for a minute or two I took the microphone and started speaking, best decision ever.
I'm thankful God is still just as alive and able as He was before. God was able to speak directly to the hearts of the congregation. Many showed though their body language they were receiving something special from God.
And once again I'm in awe of God's unending power and love to speak to His people. The words I shared were word of encouragement to a congregation who had just come out of a place of struggle. Our new church was just settling back after going through a season of division in their church. They were all still hurt but their Father in heaven wanted them to know He was fighting for them and they needed to stand strong.
"Our God is greater, Our God is stronger, God you are higher then any other, our God is healer, awesome in power, our God!… and if our God is for us then who could ever stop us, and if our God is with us then what can stand agains"
The lyrics to this song were exactly what God was asking His people to believe. These are the word God is asking YOU to believe. No matter what our situations are, our God is able. Do you believe that?
