Hey, my name is Sandra and I am the happiest 22 year old alive! I am a youth leader, worship dance instructor, the church secretary and a full time adult with a job. I've been to two life changing mission trips to Mexico and I loved it. I had the privilege of experiencing the true power of God while in Mexico and I just can't have enough. After my trips to Mexico I chose to follow God regardless of my comfort and needs. Going on The World Race is a dream come true and it's a testimony of God giving me my heart's desire.
I am ecstatic to serve and accomplish what God has called me to do "to serve the least of these." God has taken me on a life journey so I would one day understand that my comfort, security and everything I have here is nothing in comparison with sharing His love with everyone I encounter.
The early years…
I was raised in a Christian home with pastors for parents and I wouldn't change my family for anyone else's. Growing up with parents who are willing to give up a lot for others was honestly very hard. Both my parents have servant's hearts and will do anything and everything for others. As a child I saw it as giving a lot of our comfort to help people I didn't even know. I didn't quite understand the reason I had to live that way. I remember wearing Payless brand shoes while other families received known brands for their children because my parents helped them. A lot of resentment and anger grew in my heart, but I can now look back and smile for the hard but great journey God took me on. I thank my parents for raised my 4 siblings and I to serve and give God our best. Everything my parents did and everything I now do for others I do as if it was for God himself. I don't work for the approval, thanks, or appreciation I receive from people but rather from a grateful and humble heart.
