Hey, this one will be a shorty, but a goodie!
The Lord has been pretty awesome and faithful this month (as if He is ever not,) and brought our team to a level of vulnerability that most of us haven’t experienced thus far on the race. He has been pointing out a lot of our ‘crap’ lately and making it evident that we need to share it with the team instead of pretending that we’ve got it all together.
He has been stripping off our masks.
Well last night I was praying about this, and I was thanking the Lord for all that He has been revealing to our team, however, I told Him that I felt as if we were all seeing our ‘crap’ and we were all laying it out on the middle of the floor, but we didn’t know what to do with it, so we were just staring at it. And as I said that, the Lord immediately responded with, “well, why don’t you dance on it?â€ I thought that was a wonderful idea, but I said, “that’ll be nice for another day.â€
Meanwhile, it was Amy’s night to lead debrief and the Lord placed it on her heart to have us all share whatever it is that He’s showing us, teaching us or whatever it is that we’re struggling with. She knew that I wasn’t feeling well, so she actually considered putting off this ‘intense’ debrief sesh until I was feeling better, but the Lord (via Kelsie) urged her to go for it.
So the scene was set, we all sat in a circle, some rules were put into action (no interruptions, let the tears flow, no advice or comments can be given, etc.) and we all just put our crap onto the middle of the floor. I was the last person to share and when I was done I told my team what the Lord had put on my heart just moments before… I told them that I think we are supposed to literally dance on this pile of our ‘crap’.
So the music was picked, the lights went out and we danced. We danced and danced, sweat rolling down our backs, muscles aching, throats going hoarse… we danced. And it was beautiful.
I can’t express to you the freedom and the lightness that was experienced that night. Things were broken; I don’t even think we realize how much ground was taken back for the Lord that night, and how many strongholds were broken… but yea. Praise Jesus!
He’s definitely on the move in the lives of these Undignified women. And we’re loving every minute of it.
🙂
