Back in Palacaguina, Nicaragua, I had a dream. A dream like I have never had before. Usually when I hear God’s voice, He puts something on my heart, be it a revelation, a verse, a song, a thought. He puts it on my heart so clearly that I know it’s not of my own doing, but can only come from Him. However, back in Palacaguina, I experienced something completely different. I had a dream where I saw the image of a Bible. It was a black Bible that was stitched together along the left-hand side of the front cover, rather than bound together at the spine. It had three columns of red cross-stitching that held the pages together. I know it may sound crazy, it did to me as well, but as the Lord painted that image in my mind, I heard His audible voice. He said to me “you think a seamstress binds this book together, but it is Me, I wove this book into being.”

I woke up in revelation. Those words rang over and over in my mind as I continued to meditate on them. “I wove this book together” The Lord, God, Almighty, wove this book together, not the church, not the missionaries, or the preachers, it is of the Lord, it is His words and His story. He reminded me that night, in my tent in the middle of a church in the hills of Palacaguina, how important His word is and how true it is.

He is the Creator of the entire universe; He created us and everything we are surrounded by. We are operating within His world and His creation. It is a crazy, complicated one, but the good thing is He wrote a manual. He gave us instructions on how to operate most successfully within this world, how to live a life most full, how to live a life most rewarding. He created life and then was generous enough to give us the instructions on how to best live it. The importance of studying that word and memorizing that manual is becoming all the more apparent with each passing day on the Race. He guides us with His word through each passing moment. Through every hardship and triumph His word is there for instruction, for wisdom and for comfort. It is the way, and it is the truth, my Lord has told me so.
