My name is Samantha Limon and I am a daughter of the King.
He created the heavens and the earth. He placed the stars in the sky and calls them by name. He is the beginning and the end. He is the author and perfecter of our faith.
Him.
He delights in me.
Yesterday, I was able to purchase a jacket, a headlamp, and a water bottle. Along with those items, my tent arrived in the mail. Four things. Those were the items I had ready for training camp. I was rejoicing because things were finally getting done.
There’s something about being alone and the nighttime. Unless you take captive every thought, your mind can definitely wander. Mine did. You’d never know that the girl who was over the moon excited for the few things she had would be crying into her pillow at night telling God that she couldn’t do it. The end did not seem near and the mountain that seemed to grow as time progressed appeared to increase in size.
I got an email that I needed to update Adventures in Missions on my funds by tomorrow at noon. Can I be honest? I’m so behind in funds. My first deadline that was two weeks ago has come and gone and I’ve yet to make progress. I’m still at about $1500 raised when I’m supposed to be at least at $3900. $2400 short. That coupled with the need for gear and vaccines just seemed like an impossible feat. Well… It is. It’s impossible. For me, that is. But I’m thankful for a God who specializes in the impossible. I know He’s moving in the hearts of people and preparing them to give. I know that. But the process, the pruning, it’s hard. And I felt it last night.
My sweet aunt agreed to drive me to San Antonio today to visit REI so that she could buy me a backpack. I honestly figured if I had backpack and a tent, then I could just go without everything else — I would just endure. We picked out my backpack and since my aunt asked about my footwear, she insisted she buy me shoes because well, this girl has nothing for outdoors, shoes included. I tested out Chacos and while walking around the store I came back to my aunt speaking to a lady (For the sake of stuff, we’ll call her Angel). Angel asked a little about my trip so I explained it and so she proceeded to tell me about her job. The next words that came out of her mouth had me floored.
I work for The Foundation. We are a group that seeks out people to stand in the gap for them and we like to provide and meet people’s needs. I would like to pay for all of the equipment you need for your trip. If it’s in this store and you need it, The Foundation is going to pay for it.
WHAT?! I had no words. From crying twelve hours earlier wondering if God would provide to crying because He is so so faithful.
Everything. Backpack, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, tent, pillow, compression sacks, Chacos, bug spray, emergency kit, etc. Paid for by people doing Kingdom work. I don’t know who they are, but God knows.
My heart is so full. The One who created life itself cares about me. He rolled out the red carpet because He delights in me. And guess what? He delights in you too! He loves you with an everlasting love. Nothing you do can separate you from His love. Absolutely nothing. Not your actions and not even your doubts. This is what I want to share with people. This is what I hope to show people on the other side of the world and even at home. God’s love is unconditional and He wants you to know it.
