I HAVE A JOB! It has been two and a half months since I returned home from The World Race and I have finally accepted a full time job and am completely overjoyed about where the Lord is taking me. Before I explain about the position let’s flashback to my training camp, July 2013, where it all started.
*tutus are a training camp staple!*
When I arrived at training camp I was the rare racer who was clueless to the hard stuff that we were going to experience; I was just pumped to meet people! Don’t get me wrong I blog stalked for days, but I had an overwhelming peace about what was to come, so excitement filled my heart, not fear. While Training Camp was difficult for me, it was more like a fire lit in my heart for the Lord; having 250 young adults worshipping every night will do that to a girl. I left Training Camp with a stronger identity, a wealth of new Spiritual knowledge and a complete love of community. These three things only continued to grow during my 11 months on the field.
The World Race changed me, a lot. It allowed me to see the Lord move in more ways than I ever imagined. I learned to hear the Holy Spirit and walk boldly for the sake of the Gospel. I learned to be defined by the God that I serve, not the culture or people that surround me. I came home confident in my identity as a Daughter of the King, who is loved and cherished by Her Father. I WANT THAT FOR EVERYONE! I am so grateful for my 11 months on the World Race and I want to walk alongside racers as they experience an amazing year with their Father, serving His Kingdom.
I believe that the Lord used the World Race to ignite my passion for Him, His Kingdom and confirm my heart for missions. I was given the opportunity to be discipled by Christian leadership, experience real and raw community and ultimately take the Gospel to the nations. IT WAS AWESOME. Now, I have the opportunity to stand on the other side of the World Race and disciple others.
****DRUM ROLLLLL****
In January I will be moving to Gainesville, GA to work for the World Race as a Squad Mentor! In simple terms, I am going to live and work in Georgia while walking alongside racers all over the world (cool, right!). I will be responsible for driving the spiritual formation process and discipleship of the World Racers on the squad I mentor. I will do that in the following ways:
- Training and leading squad & team leaders
- Teaching on topics like feedback, prayer, celebration, vulnerability, and leadership
- Facilitating team debriefs & conflict management
- Casting vision for the squad’s growth
- Praying and interceding for the Squads and direction the Lord is taking them
The coolest part about this whole thing is that I’ve known for over a year that I wanted to be a part of what Adventures in Missions is doing (since my training camp!). There were many times during my race that I thought God was telling me I would end up there, but when I came home jobless I figured it was just my heart and my desires, not His. I have prayed for months about ending up in The World Race office and to see God finally open a door, with a job that couldn’t be a more perfect fit, is just really cool. It is another moment when I stand in awe of our Father. It turns out that my desire to work for Adventures was aligned with God’s will and nothing makes my heart happier.
“delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light.” –Psalm 37:4-6
I am excited for this move to Georgia. I am ecstatic to immerse myself in a community that can push me closer to Christ. I am thrilled to be a part of something that has changed my life forever. I love that this job aligns my passions, desires, and heart for people. I am choosing to live a missional life, here in America, but I need your help.
This position requires me to fundraise. I am looking for monthly supporters to partner with me as I continue to follow God’s call on my life. I need to raise 3 months support ($3500) by January and $13,500/year. This is my greatest need right now. Please consider supporting my mission to serve World Racers.
Fundraising requires a total submission of the Lord to provide, and I am on my knees in prayer asking you to join with me. Please prayerfully consider giving of your finances. I would love to have you join me as a monthly supporter, but if that isn’t where the Lord leads you then a one-time donation is greatly appreciated!

Two weeks ago I went to Gainesville to work at Training Camp. When I pulled onto the Adventures property I heard the words, “you are home”. And now I can finally say yes, I am.
with love,
